Sad News About Our Colleague

Michelle Grimshaw

Dear Friends of Cardinal Allen,

I am afraid that we have been informed that Mrs Michelle Grimshaw has very sadly passed away.

Mrs Grimshaw was, as many of you will know, absent from school for much of 2019 but returned to work in January having recovered from her illness. Unfortunately, her illness returned at the start of the summer and she died in mid-August.

This has, despite her prolonged absence, come as a huge shock to the school. Michelle was a brilliant Curriculum Leader, great languages teacher, and a much-loved colleague, and she will be sorely missed by the whole school community.

We will of course celebrate Michelle's contribution to the life of our school when we return, but I would like, in the meantime, to invite anyone who came across Michelle, whether as a pupil or parent, to record any memories that you might have of Mrs Grimshaw in our online Book of Condolence. We hope to then present your messages to Michelle’s family.

Can I ask that you keep Michelle, her husband, and three school-aged children in your prayers at this very difficult time.

Very best wishes,

Andrew Cafferkey
